The History of Electrolyzed Reduced Water / Hydrogen Water

Electrolyzed Reduced Water(Alkaline Ionized Water) started to be took noticed since around 1930.

Around 1930	Reduced water is loved by some enthusiasts as [the illness cure water].

About 1955	1st Alkaline Ionized Water Boom Alkaline Ionized Water Boom is occurred between police officials.

1965

Alkaline Ionized Water Maker is approved as a medical equipment by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Director of Pharmaceutical Affairs Bureau in Ministry of Health and Welfare give an official notice below as the medical efficacy (Yaku-Hatsu No. 763) to prefectural governors on 8th Oct 1965. �ECathode Water / Reduced Water (Alkaline Ionized Water)…for indigestion, chronic diarrhea, gastric hyperacidity, and abnormal enteric fermentation �EAnode Water (Acidic Water)…astringent effect, use as astringent liquid

1985	Dr.Munenori Kawamura (the director of Kyowa Medical Clinic), Hidetaka Shinohara (a doctor of medicine) and others start water treatment to chronic disease which have no medicine to cure.

1992

Electrolyzed water is broadcasted on "Today's News" of Japan Television as "awesome water". The TV program broadcast the encounter of the water and a cameraman, Mr.Morimoto who had been tackled environmental issues, the example of "improvement of leg's necrosis from the complications of diabetes" at Kyowa Medical Clinic, and so on. It can be said as a first step of electrolyzed water's acceptance.

1993

Because the broadcast above was too sensational to trust, electrolyzed water was demanded to reconsider its efficacy, safety, and medical authorization by the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan. And from this incident, the Functional Water Research Promotion Foundation is established as an affiliated organization of Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the manufacturer request verification to Hosokawa professor at the Medical Department of Kyoto University through the foundation.

1994	The First Functional Water Symposium is held by the Functional Water Research Promotion Foundation at Makuhari Messe and electrolyzed water's medical efficacy and safety for living body is confirmed and announced. Since then, the symposium has been held every year.

1995	The ability, «electrolyzed water can remove active oxygen» is proved by professor Lui of Taiwan University. The joint research with Taiwan University begins.

1996	Professor Sanetaka Shirahata at Genetic Engineering major in the Agricultural Department of Kyushu University Graduate School begins the research about active hydrogen in the electrolyzed water.

1997	Professor Shirahata publishes the research result to Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications «BBRC». From his publication, «Electrolyzed Water Removes Active Oxygen and Protect DNA from Oxidation» , electrolyzed water is started to research in the USA. And in this year, there is a first time of research presentation from the U.S.in the Functional Water Symposium.

1998	Professor Shirahata publishes "Glucose Intake Control in Polygonal Muscle Cell of Insulin Reaction Rat".

1999	In the general meeting of Nihon Igakukai, that is a top of the medical association in Japan, alkaline ionized water and electrolyzed reduced water are recognized as a field of the medical treatment.

2001�N

In the Kansai, West Japan, and Chu-goku joint meeting of the Japan Society for Bioscience, Biotechnology and Agrochem, Mr. Uenishi announces «"Anti-diabetic Effect of Electrolyzed Reduced Water and Natural Reduced Water"», that electrolyzed reduced water and natural reduced water accelerate the approach of suger to the muscle cell and improve glucose tolerance dysfunction of type 2 diabetes model mouse.

2003	At the Meeting of Bioscience, Biotechnology and Agrochem in Japan (Tokyo) Professor. Takeki Hamasaki announces «Active Oxygen Remove Effect by Platinum Nanocolloid», that platinum colloid work as active hydrogen donor in electrolyzed hydrogen water.

2005	On Cytotechnology, «The electrolyzed reduced water which attached particles platinum nano particles restrains promotion of 2 ranks cell transformation. » It is inferred that the platinum nano particles in reduced water restrain the rise of ROS level in the cell. Electrolyzed reduced water attached platinum nano particles is a new anti-oxidation matter that restraints chemical carcinogenesis.

2006	On Kidney International, «Electrolyzed reduced water restrains hemodialysis-induced erythrocyte's function fall (anemia) of patients who have terminal liver disorders»is presented.
